Luis Alberto Hernando, Jonathan Albon, Pascal Egli, Holly Page, Sheila Avilés, Megan Kimmel, Ragna Debats, Sanna & Lina El Kott... the roll call of great stars is endless.

The third edition of the BUFF® Mountain Festival will take place from 12 to 14 July with four races each with a different distance: 65 km, 42 km, 26 km and 12 km. Participants can choose which challenge they want to face, although this year the star race of the weekend will be the 42-km race.

If last year was already part of the world circuit of the Migu Run Skyrunning World Series, this time round it will be Super Sky category, which means it offers double points for the yearly ranking and is therefore a race that the very best runners will not want to miss.

The spectacular route, which takes in a variety of incredible landscapes, will reach its highest point at 2,619 metres along the crest of Comaminyana. It will cross valleys, rivers, ridges and saddles, enjoying some of the most beautiful natural spaces in the world.

It’s no wonder then that the best trailrunners in the world will be waiting for the starting gun to sound in Barruera on Sunday 14 July at 8 a.m.

The list of competitors is truly sensational. Spectators will be able to enjoy the best Skyrunning race of the year with the presence of the discipline’s best runners: Pascal Egli, Pablo Villa, Luis Alberto Hernando, Andre Jonsson, Marc Pinsach, Ruy Ueda, Jonathan Albon, Hillary Gerardi, Holly Page, Sheila Avilés, Oriol Cardona, Megan Kimmel, Elena Petrova, Zaid Ait Malek, Ragna Debats, Dmitry &. Ekaterina Mityaev, Sanna & Lina El Kott, Kiril Nikolov, Remigio Huaman, Thibaut Garrivier, and Anne-Lise Rouset, among many others battling it out for the top spot.

One of the many advantages of the sport is that anyone who has suitably trained can compete alongside these great names, either in the same 42-km race, the star of the festival, or in any of the other distances.

The 65-km race, also known as the Memorial Joan Rojas, is a tough and challenging race. Named in honour of the creator of the BUFF® brand and the festival itself, it is also ITRA4, which means that completion grants participants four points to compete in the Ultra Trail of Montblanc.

The 26-km race, the most popular and with the highest level of participation, is long enough to be a true Skyrunning race but not excessively arduous, which makes it highly accessible for many fans. The event is part of the Spain & Andorra Skyrunners Series circuit.

And finally, the shortest race with a distance of 12 km is perfect for those starting out in this incredible world of mountain racing. At the same time there will also be a walking option along the same route with the same distance for those who simply prefer to walk without haste.
