From the 12th to 14th of July, as part of the BUFF® Mountain Festival, the line up of the very best skyrunners in the world will be akin to the starry sky of Vall de Boí. A unique spectacle awaits all those who descend on the town of Barruera to experience an epic event.

Ragna Debats, Megan Kimmel, Sheila Avilés, Sanna Elkott, Holly Page, Hillary Gerardi, Emily Hawgood, Anne-Lise Rousset, María Zorroza and Maite Etxezarreta, among many others, will dazzle in a line up replete with a whole host of other stars including Luis Alberto Hernando, Oriol Cardona, Ruy Ueda, Jonathan Albon, Andreu Simon, Marc Pinsach, Pablo Villa, Zaid Ait Malek, Pere Aurell, Eugeni Gil, Ernest Ausiró, Miguel Caballero, Thibaut Garrivier, Eugeni Rosselló, Eduard Hernández, Albert Pujol, Remigio Huamán, Hassan Ait Chaou, Pere Rullán, Manuel Anguita and the Casal Mir brothers, in addition to the entire Basque legion and many more.

The main event of the weekend will take place on Sunday 14 July at 8 a.m. with the 42-km event, which once again is part of the MIGU RUN SKYRUNNER® WORLD SERIES, as well as this year being one of the four SUPERSKY Races with more points available. Without a doubt, it is one of the races of the year with duels, in both male and female categories, worthy of the best skyrunning in the world.

On 13 July, the day before, at 6 a.m. the Joan Rojas Memorial will begin with four ITRA points up for grabs. It is set to be a true test of extreme strength as reflected in its numbers: 65 kilometres and more than 5,000 meters of elevation gain. Many long distance fans have images from past editions imprinted in their memories, when the weather conditions – whether cold and raining or suffocating heat – made for moments that have gone down in the sport’s history.

Two hours later on the same day, it will then be the turn of the 26-km BUFF® Epic Trail by SCOTT, which is part of the SKYRUNNER® National Series. The event is rounded off with a 12-km race with 480 metres of elevation gain, which will take place on Sunday 14 July at 9.30 a.m. This is an excellent opportunity for young people, the future of skyrunning, to show what they are made of, and for any runner and mountain lover, whatever their age, to take their nascent steps in this beautiful sport.

The whims of mother nature mean that from time to time striking phenomena grace our sky. Eclipses or comets passing overhead give rise to spectacles that are viewed in awe from all over the planet. This event is no doubt one of them.

The Parc Nacional d'Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici awaits all those gearing up for the celebration that is the BUFF® MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL.
